- What is this?
- FaceBall 2000 NET is a remake of the Game Boy game in order to play the mythical 16 player mode. The efforts of the FaceBall community have recently led to the first true 16 player game of FaceBall. This is a huge win! Regretfully though, most people don't have 16 Game Boys, whatever number of Link Cables you need, the custom hardware, and 15 other people to have their own 16 player FaceBall session.
- How accurate is it?
- While I did my best to create a one to one copy, I don't have the skills to follow along with the assembly of the base game. As such I eyeballed it. I did my best but don't expect it to play EXACTLY the same. That said it should be close enough for the average gamer to not notice a difference, though I am sure I will hear otherwise XD
- That said I did take some creative freedom for quality of life features. Things like more faces and colors to choose from. I did not make any changes to things that would break the feel and pace of the game. Still stuck on tank controls!
- Why [CHANGE A] and not [CHANGE B]?
- Ultimately. Changes made make the game more playable, but not more "modern". Fixing getting stuck or lost does not change the vision of the game. But adding modern controls would change that vision.
- Any updates in the future?
- Nothing planned.
- Would you consider adding [BLANK]?
- The scope of this project was to make the multiplayer experience of the Game Boy version of FaceBall accessible. If you want another part of the game experience go play the original.
- I found a bug
- Make a comment about it and I will address it when I can.
- Known bugs
- Faces rarely can be "invisible". I Have added some counter measures for it, but I am not sure what the cause is . However if it happens to you then know the shadow will still be visible and hits still work. For some reason looking away and then back shows the face again.

can we use a different button to fire? I have a mechanical keyboard so hitting the space bar in an action game makes a loud SLAM that I'd prefer not to have on a button that I'm hitting frequently
I can add another key to it. did you have one in mind?
(mice aiming is partly implemented. it had bugs in browser so i disabled it for now. but the click still works)
Ctrl, as was used in FPS games of the time
